As a little girl Joani* lived on the streets of India-a hard life that was about to get much worse.

When her family was unable to repay a loan on time, Joani was taken as "payment." Still just a young girl, she was forced into a life of exploitation and abuse. Help victims of child trafficking today. 

Eventually, Joani was rescued from bondage during a police raid. Now a teenager, Joani had nowhere to turn and no way to provide for herself.

Hurt and scared, Joani was brought to New Hope, a special home where exploited girls can find safety, healing and hope for the future. Thanks to partners like you, Joani and the other girls at New Hope have a safe place to sleep, blankets to keep them warm, and clothes and shoes to wear. For the first time in her life, Joani is able to attend school, and she hopes to someday become a teacher.
