Judy Hudson is one of our most popular Training Partners on Learn2GroomDogs.com. She travels the world demonstrating grooming skills to pet professionals. When she is not in front of an audience or a video camera, she grooms dogs just like you.
This modern style offers plenty of flair, yet it is relatively low maintenance for the owner. In a busy pet home, that's a winning combination. The head is round. The ears are bobbed. The body is shorter while the legs are left fuller with beveled feet. As she works around this little cutie, Judy talks about structure, angles, and working safely.
Here's a unique twist. In this lesson, Judy shows you how to do the same trim using two different tools to set the body length. One blade on one side of the dog and the second option on the flip side. She discusses the differences of working with a #4 blade versus using a metal guard comb. Both options leave approximately the same length of coat.
Our model dog for this lesson is an adorable little mixed breed. We are guessing she is a combination of Shih Tzu and Poodle. We are betting you have similar looking dogs in your own clientele.
