Cutting Down a Full Coated Shih Tzu

You've seen Pandy in our video lessons and in Melissa Verplank's book, The Theory of Five. She's that black-and-white Shih Tzu with an abundance of long, flowing coat. In this video lesson master pet stylist, Lisa Leady, creates a totally new look for Pandy. As she has aged, caring for Pandy's long coat has gotten a bit challenging for the owners - and uncomfortable for the dog. Lisa shows you how to create a unique trim that gives the illusion of a long flowing coat. But it's just that, an illusion. She shows you how to create this trim with a combination of guard combs, shears and blending shears. This is fun trim for a senior pet. The main goal is to make her look good while minimizing the amount of time she's on the grooming table or being brushed at home.
