Amy Triezenberg is an award-winning stylist. Where she works, she's known as the Standard Poodle expert. She likes the title. She'd much rather groom a Standard Poodle than a Newfoundland!
Amy has been grooming for over 13 years. She has made the GroomTeam USA Top 10 five times. In this L2GD lesson, Amy shows you her time-saving techniques when it comes to grooming this breed. Typically, she can do this stylish haircut on a dog that is extremely overgrown in about an hour and a half (not including the bath and blow dry).
Not only do her techniques save time, many minimize mats and tangles between grooming appointments. Amy's version of this trim gives the impression of length and fullness. But here's the thing - much of it is an illusion. This illusion makes caring for this trim between haircuts simple.
Amy's uses effective clipper techniques to remove coat quickly. She also bounces into plenty of shortcuts using guard combs. By the time she is ready to do the final scissoring for a velvet finish, there isn't much coat to scissor off. The dog looks stunning in a very short amount of time!
This full lesson runs just over an hour in length. We have broken it into sections for easier viewing. This entire lesson is absolutely full of great information. Join Amy as she speeds through this trim and teaches you all of her tricks.
