A Discussion on Speed Techniques
for the Pet Salon
with Lindsey Dicken, NCMG, Marc LaFleur, CMG, and Melissa Verplank, CMG

Let's face it - if you're a pet professional, figuring out how to shave off a few minutes with each groom is paramount to your success.  It doesn't matter whether you are a solo groomer - or working with the team of pet professionals - the need for speed is always there.  Quality grooming tied with efficiency is what creates gratifying paychecks and get the bills paid.

Seasoned pros Marc, Melissa, and Lindsey agree that most small to medium sized pets should take between 45-60 minutes to do from start to finish.  Occasionally, it might take a little longer - but those grooms are few and far between.  Generally, small dogs should take under an hour for the bath, blow-dry, and finish work.

If you are not hitting this mark, or a team member is struggling to keep up, don't miss this lesson.

In this lesson, you'll get a few examples of breed specific haircuts and how long it takes to complete each one.  They also discuss three of the major categories that we deal with every day.  You'll hear their personal tips on how to get through the process the quickest without sacrificing quality for:

  1.  bathing
  2.  drying
  3.  finish work

This 35 minute lesson is absolute peppered with great ideas that you can apply immediately in your salon.  Most of the ideas are easy to implement see you can start saving time right away while boosting your bottom line.
