Handling Techniques
with Lindsey Dicken, NCMG
|
When it comes to proper pet handling techniques, National Certified Master Groomer, Lindsey Dicken knows what she's doing. In this lesson, Lindsey teaches you how to work safely and efficiently with pets who might not sit still as a statue during grooming.
Maintaining proper control is essential for pet safety. Lindsey starts by showing you how and where to place the grooming lead. As Lindsey says, "When you have proper control of the head, you will have proper control of the rest of the body." Even the size of the grooming table can influence how a dog will behave. Lindsey also discusses the importance of understanding canine anatomy in order to prevent injury. As she moves through the lesson, Lindsey explains each step of the grooming process while using the techniques that will keep the pet safe and provide the best results.
Seasoned pros agree - grooming skills alone are not enough. Dogs get their confidence from you! Keeping a dog comfortable and safe will encourage better cooperation and will help make the experience more enjoyable for the pet as well as the groomer.
Approximate total running time: 25 minutes
In this video you will learn:

I'm just like most of you. When I needed to hire people, I didn't want it complicated. I just needed help. I figured the easiest route to go was to find the person who could groom and and get him or her started.
Fast forward three years and my accountant suggested I hire a CPA to do my taxes. My new CPA really set me straight using a very effective tactic - fear.
