Jennifer Hecker has shown you how to correctly groom a Dandie Dinmont Terrier for the confirmation show ring. All the grooming was done to breed profile. In this lesson, she shows you how groom a PET Dandie.
Jennifer calls her technique for dealing with the jacket of a pet Terrier "pet stripping." This technique is easier on the dog and more economical for the owner. Yet, you can easily get the same type of "correct" look as on a show dog. To achieve this look she uses a combination of mat rakes, stripping knives, and clippers.
Throughout the video you'll get lots of tips allowing you to get the job done quickly and easily. As Jennifer works, she reminds you that Dandies should be long and low. They are a very curvy breed and everything should flow. In this lesson you'll learn how to make everything work together. Plus, Jen gives ideas on how to work with a dog that is missing plenty of coat in all the wrong areas.
