Spinal Cord Injury Alberta [formerly Canadian Paraplegic Association (Alberta)] will continue to provide information and services on behalf of people with spinal cord injuries and their families throughout Alberta. We have been doing so for over 50 years and we will continue to do so but with a new name that reflects the work we do.

Broadcasting Accessibility Fund

A new Broadcasting Accessibility Fund website, www.baf-far.ca, will be launched on December 3, 2014 - International Day for Persons with Disabilities. Shortly after the launch of our new website, the Fund will announce its first Call for Letters of Intent - BAF Grant Applications. This is the first step in the process of applying for a grant from the Fund: to tell us about your ideas for initiatives that will result in greater accessibility to broadcasting content for Canadians with disabilities. You'll be able to find out more about the Broadcasting Accessibility Fund, including the kinds of initiatives we're looking for, by visiting www.baf-far.ca/how-to-apply. The first of its kind in the world, the Fund is an independent and impartial funding body that was created as part of the tangible benefits package associated with BCE's acquisition of CTVglobemedia.  The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) approved its creation together with initial funding of $5.7M. Should you have any questions about the Broadcasting Accessibility Fund, contact me directly at (613) 729-1891 or [email protected].
