Stay tuned for information on our outdoor adventure weekend this summer!

SpinCycling 

Time:

Wednesdays at 6:30 pm. 

Where:

University of Alberta Van Vliet Center. We will meet in the Steadward Centre Parking lot and ride from there. 

Cost: 75$-160$, depending on services you require. Please see the PDF for details.

Para Cycling Clinics

Edmonton:

This clinic will include ALL types of bikes (handcycles, tandem, two wheeled, trikes, ect). This clinic will be led by Stephen Burke who is the Para Cycle Coach from the Canadian Sports Centre of Calgary. This clinic will take place May 30th at the University of Alberta. 

Time:

5pm-6:30pm: Handcyclists, recumbent cyclists and tricyclists. 

6:30-8pm: Two wheeled cyclists and tandem. 

Cost: 40$, subsidy available.

 

Grande Prairie:

This clinic will be held Sunday June 9th at the Centre 2000 parking lot. Please see the

poster for more details.

 

Calgary:

This clinic will be held August 30th, 31st and September 1st. It will be for a more advanced level of cycling. Please contact the office for more information.

 

Adapted Sailing

In partnership with the Disabled Sailing Association of Alberta 
When: 
July 13th and 14th
Where: Wabamun Sailing Club 
Turn off Highway 16 to the club (it is marked but watch for it!). Drive south down Range Road 43 to the end of the road. The club and a small park are on the left.
Cost: 30$ for Sat and Sunday, including lunch

Rock Rock Climbing
CADS
 
In preparation for our Outdoor Weekend in July, we will be starting a summer indoor rock climbing program with a special emphasis on techniques for outdoor climbing!
  
Time, dates, location:
Mondays: May 27th, June 10th, June 24th, July 15th
6:30-8:00pm at Vertically Inclined Rock Gym, 8523 Argyll Rd NW
Cost: 30$ for Adapted Adventures Members, 40$ for Non Adapted Adventures Members, 60$ for family and friends
This session will be open to ALL ability levels; whether you are a beginner or more experienced climber you will learn new skills and have a good time!

In collaboration with the St. Albert Canoe and Kayaking Club, we will be offering a paddling program again this year!


When: 
June 17th, July 8th, August 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th

Where: Kirk Lake, which is situated off Yellowhead trail on 190 st and 122 ave.  

Time: 6:30pm-8pm

Summer Volunteer Opportunities
 
St. Albert's Roy Financial Mayor's Walk for Charity
Adapted Adventures will be participating in the Mayor's Walk this year. The proceeds that we raise will go directly to the Adapted Adventures program. If you are interested in volunteering or participating, please contact our office. Please see the website for registration and pledge information. 

 

Kwad Squad: Great White North Triathlon
We are looking for an enthusiastic cheering section to help cheer on Morrie and Chandra as they complete the triathlon! We will also need some volunteers to help with Aid Stations along the race route. Located in Stony Plain, the event will take place on July 7th. If you or anyone else you know are interested in coming out to support the Kwad Squad, please contact our office.
 
Big Valley Jamboree
This August long weekend, Adapted Adventures will be selling programs at Big Valley Jamboree, located in Camrose. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact the office. You will receive free parking and camping for the weekend as well as access to concerts!

Bikeology Commuter Race

We determine which mode of transport is the most efficient. Could it be yours?  We are looking for cyclists, car drivers, bus riders, skaters, skateboarders, LRT users, runners...anyone, and everyone...

Start: Parkallen Community League Hall 11104 - 65 Avenue

Finish: Downtown library south plaza between 100 Street and 99 Street on 101A Avenue

Why: Because there are prizes! And free food!
