Why does The Caldwell House have its own bridal show?

The Caldwell House staff have participated in bridal shows at larger venues in other cities. There are pros and cons to large bridal shows. While there are many wedding service vendors to visit, sometimes this can be overwhelming to brides and grooms. Each vendor is competing against other vendors for the bride's attention. This situation is also difficult for vendors, particularly those who are located several rows down, toward the end of the show.  

The Caldwell House Bridal Show offers a much more pleasant shopping experience. While it features several vendors for many wedding services, brides and grooms are not rushed or overwhelmed. During the 4 hours of the show, each vendor has time to speak to each bride and groom and explain their services. Our vendors come from all over Acadiana, so this show is for weddings held anywhere, not just local Abbeville weddings. In addition to wedding service vendors, also offered are products such as jewelry, makeup, and other items which may be of interest to brides and grooms. Add to that experience complimentary wine, music and beautiful ambience and you will realize why The Caldwell House Bridal Show is a nice way to spend an afternoon.  You might also win a door prize!

Does the economy affect weddings and receptions?

No matter what the state of the economy is or the time of the year, weddings will still take place. In a slow economy, wedding guest lists tend to be smaller and brides and grooms sometimes marry in grandma's back yard to save costs. However, once the economy begins improving, the guest list grows and only a large hall will hold all the guests.  Many times, brides and grooms want to keep the intimacy of a small wedding, but want a "big party" for their reception. The Caldwell House someties hosts wedding ceremonies where a smaller number of guests is invited, to preserve the intimacy.
