SAGUARO HILL TRAIL IMPROVEMENTS
The new entry sign at the Caroline Bartol Preserve at Saguaro Hill celebrates the partnership between DFLT, the Town of Cave Creek and Desert Foothills Library in protecting this special place.
We've been sprucing up Caroline Bartol Preserve at Saguaro Hill, and we hope you enjoy the results! A new railing and some trail re-alignment near the preserve entry will make the short climb up the hill easier on the knees. We also installed a new entry sign, as well as trail markers along the trail.

This little gem is one of the Land Trust's smallest preserves, at just over 6 acres. However, it offers spectacular 360-degree views of the surrounding landscape, including Black Mountain, the Town of Cave Creek and Tonto National Forest. It also supports a beautiful stand of saguaros and puts on quite a show with spring wildflowers.

We're not done with our work out there - we have a few more tricks up our sleeve! In the meantime, you can learn more about the preserve on our website - and come check out this hidden gem for yourself! The preserve is open to the public for hiking and exploration. Parking is available at Desert Foothills Library, 38433 N. Schoolhouse Road, Cave Creek, AZ 85331.
JOIN US ON A GUIDED PRESERVE TOUR!
Visitors enjoy a tour of the Preserve at the Cave. These tours often fill up well in advance - register for this and other guided hikes on our website.
The temperatures have dropped and it's a perfect time to hit the trails! Join DFLT staff and docents on guided tours to DFLT-protected properties throughout the fall and winter. We have eight hikes scheduled through early January, but keep an eye on our website - we add hikes throughout the season.

All guided tours are free and open to the public, but registration is required - just visit our website for complete hike descriptions and online registration. We'll see you on the trails!
