Don't miss the fun! Join us at Desert Discovery Day this Saturday for live animals, crafts, refreshments and goody bags for the kids - all FREE! 

 

One of the highlights will be the release of rehabilitated raptors by Wild At Heart! Other participating  

organizations include the Arizona Archaeological Society, Cave Creek Museum, Desert Awareness Committee, Southwest Wildlife Conservation Center, and Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area.  

 

DIRECTIONS: Jewel of the Creek Preserve is located on Spur Cross Road, 3.9 miles north of Cave Creek Road. Parking will be available in the Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area lot.

Photo Contest Finalists Announced ~
VOTE NOW!

Desert Foothills Land Trust is pleased to announce the finalists in the 2014 Mountains of the Land Trust Photo Contest! Professional photographers Alan Lowy, Kazu Okutomi, Richard Rubenstein, Jerry Sieve and Mike Spinelli reviewed more than 120 entries and chose these 13 finalists for inclusion in our 2015 Mountains of the Land Trust Photo Contest calendar. 

 

The finalists are Betsy Anderson, Tom Baker, Michael Funke, Tereasa Funke, John Hoeppner, Delores Knopp, Elizabeth Long, Paul Manganelli, Tammy E. Manganelli, Azam Ossama, Diana Stockett, Ronald Thuleen, and Sam Wilson.

 

And now we NEED YOUR HELP!  Please vote for your favorite photo to be presented with our Peoples' Choice Award!  

 

Voting will end at 10:00 am on Monday, December 1. Calendars will be available for sale on December 4 - just in time for holiday gift-giving!

 

We are incredibly grateful to Cartwright's Sonoran Ranch House and Lounge, Dara Thai Café, the Good Egg, Lake Pleasant Cruises and Tonto Bar & Grill for prize donations. We are also grateful to our terrific co-chairs - Ann Hutchinson and Joanne Rebollo - and to our reception emcee, Don Sorchych.

Maricopa Trail Stewardship Day

Sat. Dec. 6, 7:30 - Anthem Maricopa Trailhead. 
Join us for a morning of trail exploration and stewardship as we hike, clean and build features along the stretch of the Maricopa Trail "adopted" by DFLT. This is a great chance to explore this local treasure! Details and registration information are available on our website.
