Great North Property Management, Inc.
Lou Gargiulo, CEO

Dear Valued Homeowner,

Over the past 22 years Great North Property Management has continued to challenge the standard ways in which property management is conducted. We all remember the days when the telephone, fax machine and the ever so popular Rolodex were our top communication tools.

A number of years ago Great North moved to a very robust accounting system, Jenark when the specific technology became available to us. Today, with the spread of pervasive networking, and changes in the fundamental communication parameters, Great North endeavors to challenge the property management landscape again.

What once required sending correspondence through the mail has now turned into automatic systems available to us via the web. This technology has opened up the lines of communication, improved response times to critical issues and made us more accessible to our clients then ever before.

Great North has implemented a web-based property management solution, GNConnect. This system allows board members, and unit owners to log in day or night, communicate maintenance and repair issues, view the association's financials and personal accounts and be promptly notified of activities impacting the community.

The revolution in this web-distributed application requires that the technology and training side of this equation is minimal. It all builds off of interfaces that everyone's familiar with, using web sites or cell phone applications. GNConnect was built not only to the specifications of Great North, but has also taken into account the input of condominium and home owner associations, over 55+ communities to make sure that it meets the requirements of all stake holders.

We are pleased to bring these innovative solutions to you as we move forward into the future together. It is our goal to continue to provide all of you with the highest level of property management services in the industry.

Sincerely,

Lou Gargiulo, CEO

Back to School Safety

With school back in full swing for most children, it's important to ensure they have a safe school year. Here are some tips on how your family can be proactive and avoid potentially harmful situations:

  • Make sure your school has your child's updated emergency contact information. Write down any specific instructions that should be followed in case of an emergency, and have the school keep them in your child's file.
  • Talk to your child's teachers before classes start and alert them to any medical issues your child has. Also, explain to the teacher what he or she should do if the medical issues arise-such as an allergic reaction, asthma attack or seizure-and provide school personnel with emergency medication such as EpiPensŪ (Epinephrine Auto-Injectors) and inhalers.
  • Help your children memorize important phone numbers so that they know how to get in touch with you and other trusted adults. Also, make sure those numbers are programmed into their cell phones, or provide them with a list of phone numbers that they can keep in their backpacks or wallets at all times.
  • Let your children know exactly who they can go home with after school if their regular ride can't pick them up, and make sure they know not to accept rides from people who aren't on the list.
  • If your children will be walking to school, walk the route with them several times before classes start to make sure they understand traffic laws and can walk the route on their own. Also, find a friend or sibling they can walk with, and make sure they always use the buddy system.
  • Show your children which houses in the neighborhood they can go to in case no one is at home after school.
  • Report reckless drivers to your property manager and the police to help make sure the neighborhood remains safe, particularly during times when kids are going to and returning from school.
