Weekly Highlights
Fourth Graders created a variety of parallel and series circuits, drew electrical diagrams, and drew conclusions about electricity using Snap Circuits.
Fifth grade and K5 buddies took advantage of the beautiful weather on Thursday with an outdoor picnic followed by a game of kickball. It was a great last gathering before summer!

June 7, 2016
It is hard to believe how fast it went, but here we are at the end of the school year! I could not have asked for a better first year as principal, and that is due in large part because of our wonderful family involvement. Whether it is supporting us through our many committees and organizations, attending school events, or just greeting us in the hallways, SJV parents fill our school with so much positivity and life! When families become involved in the school, student achievement improves, communication increases, and the morale and connectivity grows! As I reflect on the year, I am astounded and proud at all that we have accomplished together! I know none of it would have been possible without our fabulous parents, so on behalf of the entire Saint John Vianney staff, I wanted to thank all of the school families for your dedication and support of our wonderful school. We wish you all a blessed, safe, and relaxing summer spent with family and friends. We look forward to seeing all of you in August as we kick off the 2016-17 school year!

Positively SJV,
Dan Demeter, Principal
Congratulations to the Class of 2016
Good luck to all of our 8th graders. May God's blessings always be with you and may you always walk by faith.

School Supply Lists for 2016-2017
The School Pak website is ready to accept orders for the next school year.  For those who would like to use this optional service, all orders need to be placed by Friday, June 10. If you prefer to do your own shopping, click here for the supply list or check it out throughout the summer on our website under Parent Resources.
Hot Lunch Balances
Just a reminder to all SJV families- the balance in your child's hot lunch account will carry over to next year. For the 8th graders, the balance will go to their next sibling, or will be refunded, if over $5, if there are no sibling accounts. For account balances of graduates with no younger siblings and non-returning students that are less than $5, reimbursement is made only if requested in writing. We would appreciate any negative balances zeroed out by the last day of school. Happy Summer from the cafeteria staff - Claudia Towne, Judi Sottile, Jane Suro, Sue Stepp, Kim Nixon and Mary Claire Barker.
Battle of the Books
Saint John Vianney is very excited to once again participate in Battle of the Books (B.O.B)!  This voluntary program for students who will be in 4th, 5th, and 6th grade in fall of 2016. Battle of the Books is designed to introduce children to new authors, as well as encouraging a love of reading, all in the spirit of friendly competition.  The book list for 2016-2017 is attached so any student that is thinking about joining in the fall can get a jump start on reading.  (Even if your child is not certain that he or she will participate, this is a great summer reading list!)

Volunteering for the Festival
We are currently at 69% of staffing needed.  The online sign-up portal will be closing on Wednesday to prepare rosters and name badges for this year's event. If you'd like to review the list and let friends know there's still openings available, or if you would like one more shift,   take a moment to look at the sign up forms and see what's still open. Please look online for the most up to date availability.  Thank you again for making SJV's Festival an award winning event!

School Parents:  The Action Arcade needs more workers!  This is a perfect place for your teen to volunteer.  Students in middle school or high school do not need a parent to join them- please encourage them to lend a hand.  Use the online sign up or talk to Janet Miller at the festival and she will put you to work.
