After celebrating her 91st birthday, Dorothy J. Augustin went to join her father, God. The most wonderful building in the world to Dorothy Augustin was the library and she was always reading one or more books with at least one more in the queue. A faithful volunteer, she volunteered at the Saint John Vianney Library for over 40 years and was affectionately known as the "Book Doctor" by the children. Memorials were made to the St. John Vianney School library in her name. Dorothy loved picture books and with the donations, several of her favorite titles will be purchased along with other picture books and children's literature from the library's wish list.

Thank you to all who participated in the 2015-2016 parent survey. We had a strong response with approximately 75% of school families completing the survey! Your feedback is incredibly valuable to Saint John Vianney School. You may be asking, what does SJV do with the data? The results from the parent survey really accomplish two things. First, the results validate and confirm areas of strength for our school. Secondly, the survey identifies opportunities for improvement and growth. We take our parent feedback very seriously, and the feedback we receive is often reflected in our school improvement goals for the following year. Below you will find the trends that surfaced from the 2015-16 parent survey:
Areas of Strength
|
Opportunities for Improvement

- Families believe SJV provides consistent quality in Catholic Identity, especially with all school Liturgy (97%), daily prayer (94%) and Reconciliation (88%).
- Families believe SJV provides consistent quality in instructional staff, with the highlighted strengths being faith filled (90%), knowledgeable (90%), and confident (91%).
- Families believe SJV provides consistent quality in leadership, with the highlighted strengths being faith-filled (93%), compassionate (92%), and friendly (93%).

|
- 15% of families indicated that they would like to see improvements with classroom computers and the computer lab
- 14% of families indicated that would like to see an improvement in library books
- 17% of families would like to see improvements made to Spanish class
- 15% of families would like to see improvements in the middle school electives program
- 10% Parents indicated that there is still room for improvements with the new traffic pattern for pick-up and drop-off
|
The data provided many positive trends, but there are certainly areas for future growth and improvement, which will impact our decision making as we continue to strive to make SJV the best school for all of our stakeholders.
Positively SJV,

If you would like to donate uniform items for the sale, you can drop them off in front of the parish office on Sunday, June 5th before or after the 9:00am and 11:00am Masses. The resale is a great opportunity for families to purchase gently used uniforms. When donating items, please be mindful that shoppers at the sale are looking for items in decent condition. Please don't donate items that are stained or well worn.
