Weekly Highlights
Thanks for coming out to support our SJV teams in the Padre Serra Tournament!
Students in 2CB had a rummage sale in their classroom. Students practiced buying and selling small items to practice counting coins. They had a lot of fun and enjoyed the experience. They got some good deals, too!
On 3.14, the middle school math students celebrated pi day. They calculated pi after measuring the circumference and diameter of various objects including hula hoops, rolls of masking tape, cans of fruit, etc. Stay tuned next week for a video of the students reciting the first 137 digits of pi.

Safeguarding all of God's Children Lessons
In the pastoral effort to respond to the need for the protection of children and youth, the Archdiocese of Milwaukee has enhanced its Safeguarding All of God's Family program and developed additional curriculum for all children and youth. As part of this program, all children and youth in grades K4-12 grade in schools and faith formation programs will be given additional information on how to protect themselves and become aware of their surroundings.  Your child's class will be discussing this information during one religion class the week of April 4.   If you would like to see the lesson plan or do not wish your child to participate, please contact Courtney Albright.

Shamrock Pride!
We have a very eventful week here at SJV and there are a number of exciting events going on that we want to highlight. First off, the middle school students will be performing James and the Giant Peach Jr. this Thursday and Friday. They have been working extremely hard and are excited to put on a great show for everyone. Also on Thursday night, the 8th grade girls will be playing their next game in the Padre Serra Tournament against Christ King at 6:30pm. Let's get out there and spread our SJV pride at the musical or at the Padre!

Positively SJV,
Principal

Make Your Pledge Now
If you haven't yet made your pledge to the Curé d' Ars Annual Fund, please make your pledge by March 18.  Donations must be received by June 30.  You should have received a letter and pledge card in your mailbox.  You can also make a gift online using Faith Direct. Gifts can be monetary or gifts of prayer. What matters most is the participation of all SJV school families.  To learn more about why the Annual Fund is crucial to the success of St. John Vianney school, click here.
Rice Bowl Money Due
Before Easter break, please be sure to bring in your family's rice bowl.  Your donation will support the poor and vulnerable overseas, help improve farmers' harvests, provide clean drinking water and provide health exams and treatment for children. 25% of the money stays in our own diocese to support food pantries, soup kitchens and other programs that help our neighbors in need.

Bloom For Girls Workshop: Love Your Beauty on Friday, March 18 from 5:30- 8:00pm at DSHA

Molly Bell, Founder/Director, Bloom for Girls, LLC, will present on the following topic:  Is beauty only skin deep? Become a media savvy pro when it comes to how women are portrayed in advertising and pop culture. Let's try to redefine what beauty means to us in regard to ourselves and the women we love and admire in our lives. Through presentations, journaling, group discussion and fun activities, mom and daughter can expand the narrow definitions of beauty and body health.  This is a free event and dinner is provided. Space is limited. Please RSVP by Thursday, March 10 by calling (414) 466-3707 or emailing DSHA Admissions.
