Tuesday, November 24th, is our first set of parent-teacher conferences, which is a formal opportunity for families to meet with the SJV staff members. We are very proud of the work that has been accomplished this year and conferences provide an opportunity for teachers, students, and parents to collaborate and discuss your child's progress to date. Our teachers possess an understanding and knowledge of each of the students in their classes. They are prepared to speak confidently on the strengths and areas of growth for each child. Parent-teacher conferences are viewed as a collaborative process that involves two-way communication between teacher and parent, so please bring your comments and any questions which you would like addressed by the teachers. Please be reminded that conference attendance is required. If you cannot attend, we ask that you contact your teacher to reschedule. Unfortunately, I need to inform you that I will not be present for this particular set of conferences. Prior to accepting my position as principal of St. John Vianney School, my in-laws surprised the family with a trip to Hawaii over Thanksgiving week to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary. This is not an ideal situation for a first year principal. I recognize the importance of having the principal present and accessible for parent-teacher conferences. However, this is a family opportunity that just cannot be missed. Please be assured that in my absence, our school president, Pam Pyzyk, will be present and looks forward to assisting you in any way possible. I am also confident that our teaching staff will be able to provide an excellent and productive conference for your child. I apologize for not being present, but my door is always open. I am a phone call or email away should you need anything at all. Thank you very much for understanding, and I extend my wishes for a blessed and happy Thanksgiving! Positively SJV,

As the holiday season is quickly approaching, there is no need to panic about the hustle and bustle that lies ahead in the weeks to come. Anything you need - from dinners, to parties, from big gifts, to stocking stuffers - shopping with SCRIP and giving SCRIP really does make this a wonderful time of year! This is what one valued SCRIP shopper has to say:
"Instead of running all over town for gift cards to use as stocking stuffers, we were able to get them all in 15 minutes through the scrip program at our school and help make money for our grandchild's tuition." There will be no SCRIP order on Monday, November 23 because of Thanksgiving and our shortened week. We will resume our regular schedule on Monday, November 30, with just THREE ordering dates before Christmas! Important notes: - $5 Starbucks cards are no longer available.
- Remember to order Barnes & Noble cards for the upcoming book fair on December 3.
- SCRIP gift cards are a great gift to give employees as Christmas bonuses or office party gifts.
- While the weather is still nice, check to make sure you have working Christmas lights to put up outdoors. Purchase Ace Hardware, Michael's, Menard's or Home Depot cards for your Christmas decorating needs.
- Thanks-scrip-ing Day on November 26- Big rebates on ScripNow, Reload and ReloadNow. For 24 hours, you can earn some of the best rebates ever offered. Watch email for details! Purchase SCRIP for Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals!
SCRIP Customers- Please Read- Regarding Sendik's
We just got notification of a new vendor, Sendik's Food Market. This is NOT the location on Capitol Drive in Brookfield! Those cards cannot be used at this location. On the website, you will see two options: Sendik's-Brookfield, location on Capitol Drive and Sendik's Food Market, with locations in Elm Grove, New Berlin and Wauwatosa. Cards cannot be interchangeably used so take caution when ordering! If you use paper order forms, we will assume you are purchasing Sendik's-Brookfield. Sorry for any confusion-this is out of our control.

Sean Clarke, SJV class of 2011, graduated from Marquette University High School in the Class of 2015. While attending MUHS, Sean was a manager of the football team and enjoyed playing intramural sports including soccer, basketball and football. As a member of the Celtic Club, he enjoyed participating in the yearly St. Patrick's Day parade and helping with growing the food pantries in the area. He also had the wonderful opportunity to travel the country of Ireland for two weeks with the Celtic Club. With community service as an important focus of MUHS, Sean appreciated tutoring children at local middle schools and assisting at the Senior Center located in Menominee Falls. As a recipient of the John F. Kennedy Scholarship, Sean is now attending St. Norbert College as a geology major with the hopes of learning more about fracking and developing safer environmental standards.
