"Libraries are our friends."
- Neil Gaiman
"Harry- I think I've just understood something! I've got to go to the library!" And she sprinted away, up the stairs. "What does she understand?" said Harry distractedly, still looking around, trying to tell where the voice had come from. "Loads more than I do," said Ron, shaking his head. "But why's she got to go to the library?" "Because that's what Hermione does," said Ron, shrugging. "When in doubt, go to the library."
-J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
"The world is quiet here."
- Lemony Snicket
Don't you just love that new book smell? Or maybe, even better, don't you just love a book that has been read so often and by so many people that the corners of the pages are soft and curled? We are very pleased with the enthusiastic support we have from families and friends who love books wish to volunteer in our school library. Keep posted for ideas and special events focusing on our library and reading.
Peace,

Little Tykes Play House
The K4 program is wondering if anyone has an "outgrown for your family" Little Tykes Play House. The K4 students enjoy the one on their playground, but theirs is in need of an update. Contact Mrs. Andreucci if you would like to give your play home a new home.

SCRIP
How many ways can you use SCRIP? Almost as many ways as you can spend cash- for groceries, gasoline, restaurants, for nights out (or for the quick "I don't know what to do for dinner" nights), Wal-Mart, Target, Sam's Club runs. Or what about that computer you are thinking about updating? Are you needing a new snow blower? The possibilities are endless! All it takes is a little pre-planning to make these purchases and more with SCRIP cards. Remember you are getting tuition credit, cash back or making a charitable donation to SJV with each purchase so it really does pay to use SCRIP. Look for the Sunday night emails for extra rebate deals.
As always, we will process paper orders on Mondays by 8:30 am. For an added convenience, think about shopping online and paying with PrestoPay. If you have questions, email or call Martha Connelly, Amy Lodes or Janet Fisher.

The Invitations, Stationary, and Graphics committee is in need of a co-chair to address and distribute the invitations for Bids. This person would also be responsible for placing a few in the parish office and putting the invitation in the parish bulletin. This work will be done in December and January. Acquisitions
The planning for our biennial auction has already begun. One key to a successful auction is a great Acquisitions Committee. Our current chairs, Karen Parks and Amy Lodes, are in need of committee members. From September through December, committee members will contact past donors, businesses, and families, etc., for donations. It will be coordinated and organized with the entire committee and Karen and Amy.
There is a planning meeting on Thursday, September 11th at 7:30 at the Lodes residence. All are welcome to attend. This committee is small-child friendly because a large portion of the work can be done via phone. If you have any questions, please contact Karen at 262-649-3745 or Amy at 262-796-9963.
