I believe, Lord, that you are here present. Although my eyes do not see you, my faith senses you. Take any stray thoughts from my mind. Make me understand the truths that you wish to teach me in this meditation. Let me make up my mind to put them into practice. Your servant is listening; speak, O Lord, to my soul.

FROM OUR CHAIRMAN'S HEART
| |
Blessings, and DeColores, Everyone! It's hard for me to believe that half of this year is already in the history books. And, in just 10 days from the time of this writing we will have completed our 234th TDNG Weekend. GOD is GOOD! I hope this article will stimulate your thoughts and encourage you to be the Christian Leaders that God intends - and that Tres Dias is designed to produce. To paraphrase Amos in his answer to Amaziah (Amos 7:14), I am no prophet, nor am I the son of a prophet. However, it is obvious to me that signs of the Last Days are coming at an ever increasing pace. This is not the time to rest and not the time to give up hope. These are times to be vigilant and diligent. I fully believe that God wants Christians to be Leaders and take Action to impact our Environments for Him now, more than ever. As Paul's writing in Romans 12 implies, a life of Piety (Giving one's whole self to God) is our reasonable response to the mercies of God. Taking positions of service/leadership in a Church where God's Scripture is foundational and where we are challenged to Study it and use it as the plumb line is important, because the church is a vital Christian Community in Action. I could go on, but I trust that this previous paragraph shows enough of how a Tres Dias Weekend is such a powerful tool in God's Kingdom work. We need to do these things, and we are in a unique position to help other Christians do them as well. Sponsorship of Candidates for our Weekends has slowed in recent times, and I am asking you to really pray and ask God to spur each of us to be more intentional about sharing this experience with others. Sponsorship has associated responsibilities for support of Candidates and their families, but the blessing of a single Closing far outweighs the effort we make to have someone receive so much from our Father. Especially if you have not sponsored in a while, join us for an upcoming Closing and be inspired by the mighty work God could do for a friend or family member. In Christ's Lavish Love, George |
DOCUMENT CONTROL MANAGER NEEDED

|
COUPLE NEEDED TO FILL UNEXPIRED PALANCA POSITION
| |
The TDNG Secretariat is in need of a couple to fill an unexpired term. If you are interested, or would like to nominate someone, please contact George Flury, TDNG Chairman.
|
WOULD YOU LIKE TO SERVE ON AN UPCOMING TDNG WEEKEND?
| |
Upcoming Rectors are always looking for willing servants. Especially those who have never served or haven't served in 3 years or longer.
If you're willing to serve, a great way to get your name to an upcoming Rector is to attend 1 of our Secuelas. Our upcoming Rectors who are in attendance will be introduced at our Secuelas & you will have a chance to meet them & to pass your name on to them.
Another way is to put your name & contact information on our sign up lists at the front table (where we get our name tags). These lists are given to our Secretariat Leaders who then pass them on to our upcoming Rectors.
Please note that this will not guarantee you a spot on the next team, but it will greatly increase your chance to receive a call to serve in the near future.

CAMP OF COLORS
| |
Ed Knight, one of the TDNG Camp of Colors representatives (the other is Hank Gravitt) has had to resign his position due to health reasons. Please be in prayer for Ed as he continues the recovery process. Ray Skibba will fill Ed's unexpired term. If you have any questions or suggestions for the Camp, feel free to contact Hank or Ray.
The roof over the dining room has been recovered. Also, the last of the mattresses have been replaced. But, the big news is - a TDNG pescadore has donated and installed two large screen tv's in the Rollo room. This will help tremendously in folks being able to see lyrics and talk outlines. To loosely paraphrase the donor "This building means so much to me and to many people I know, I just wanted to give something back."
There is work happening at the Camp almost everyday, from major work to fixing leaky toilets. Given the age and high usage of the building, there is always something to be done. The Board is also working on formulating a long-term capital improvement plan. More information on this will be published as it becomes available. The Camp of Colors exists to be a place for Three Day Movements to hold weekends. The Board is comprised of members from each community that holds weekends at the Camp as well as "at large" positions. For information about the Board of Directors, the history of the Camp, weekend schedules, etc., visit www.campofcolors.org

TRES DIAS GUIDE FOR TEAM MEMBERS
| |
The following continues a series of excerpts from The Tres Dias Guide for Team Members.
THE RELATIONSHIP OF THE TALKS
The relationship of the talks given on a Tres Dias is both important and unique. To a large degree, the talks present the message and form the character of the Weekend. Given by persons from various denominations and congregations, they also help to give an ecumenical flavor to a Tres Dias weekend. Most importantly, the talks help stir in one's mind, questions to ponder during table discussions and often, even into their Fourth Day.
There are three types of talks presented during a Tres Dias:
Five clergy meditations: Know Thyself The Prodigal Son The Three Glances of Christ The Figure of Christ Christ's Message to the Pescadore
Five clergy rollos: Grace The Holy Spirit Sacred Moments of Grace Obstacles to Grace Life in Grace
Ten lay rollos: Ideals The Church Piety Study Action Leaders Environments Christian Community in Action Reunion Groups Living the Fourth Day
The inter-relationship of these talks is a key to the dynamics of the three days. Their progression prepares the candidates for their Fourth Day. Tres Dias recognizes this importance and prescribes the order and content of the talks in "The Tres Dias Essentials". These "Essentials" differentiate between the lay and clergy talks. In reality, it is thought ihere is only one talk given during the Tres Dias, which is divided into twenty segments; some are meditations (5) and some are rollos (15). They build upon each other.
The following observations can be made when studying the relationship of the talks given within the Tres Dias.
- There are an equal number of lay rollos and clergy rollos and meditaions.
- On the whole, lay and clergy talks alternate with each other.
- The first talk of each day is a clergy meditation announcing the theme of the day.
- The last talk of each is a lay rollo given by a rollista whose life is a witness to the message.
Tres Dias is a cooperative ministry between laity and clergy and shows that this relationship can work on the Weekend and in the Fourth Day. On the first evening, the meditations indicate the direction of the whole Tres Dias experience. Each morning of the three days, a meditation presents a direction for that day.
In the next issue, we will continue the series on the relationship of the talks given on a weekend.

TDNG PASTORAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND
| |
Tres Dias of North Georgia (NGTD) is proud to announce the establishment of the Pastoral Scholarship Fund. The scholarship fund was unveiled at the January 2011 meeting of The Secretariat recognizing the necessity and importance for church leadership candidates to attend a NGTD weekend, and has been renewed for 2012.
Here are some of the details:
The NGTD Pastoral Scholarship fund is devoted to the enhancement of leadership in our area church leaders. It provides the necessary funds on a need basis to enable the church leader and his/her spouse full participation on a NGTD weekend as a candidate.
There would be a total of 10 pastoral scholarships given per calendar year and a limit of 6 scholarships to be given on any one weekend. Pastoral scholarships can be given to vocational full-time pastors, music and youth pastors and their spouses.
Pastoral scholarships would be given on a first come, first served basis and tracked by the Weekend Couples.
Award: The scholarship has a maximum limit of $2,500 per calendar year and given to the pastoral candidate in an amount up to the current weekend fee. The spouse of the pastoral candidate is also eligible to receive an amount up to the current weekend fee. Partial scholarships are also available as part of this fund.
I would be most welcome to talk to you further to answer any questions or provide additional information.

SECRETARIAT REMINDERS
|
The Secretariat would like to remind you that it is inappropriate to bring children to send-off, closing, serenade or other Tres Dias functions that are not "family affairs".
Further, only those that have attended a recognized 3-day weekend my attend Tres Dias functions.
We appreciate your understanding and compliance with these Tres Dias requirements.
- - -
Also a reminder to sponsors - Please urge your candidates to leave all cell phones & electronic devices at home so that they can block out the outside world & spend 3 days focusing totally on God and what He has in store for them.
- - -
There has been a growing issue with sponsors bringing candidates to send-off that have not been called for the weekend by the Secretariat. We would ask that, to avoid embarrassment to yourselves and your candidate, that you NOT bring anyone to attend a weekend that has not been called by the Secretariat. If you have a candidate that can attend at the last minute, write "last minute" on the top of the application and the application will be handled accordingly. For questions about this, or any area of sponsorship, contact the appropriate Secretariat member.
- - -
We would like to remind everyone in the community that names and addresses from weekend rosters, team lists, and or the TDNG database are for TDNG use only. This information should not be used for solicitation, or any other purpose not related to TDNG business.
Each Rector who serves the community agrees to be responsible for the collection of the team fees for their weekend. In some cases, it has been interpreted that they would have to pay for any fees that were not paid by team members. This is not the intent. It is the Rector's responsibility to ensure that a full weekend fee is collected and paid to the Secretariat, but the fee is not his/her personal liability. Any shortfall should be taken care of by scholarships and remaining incidental fees. - - - If you have a need to inform the community of a ministry, prayer need, employment opportunity or need, we encourage you to use the Facebook page mentioned elsewhere in this newsletter.
