Trail Closures for Grant Projects   

 

From Monday June 9th to end of day Friday June 13, crews from McDaniel's Construction will be doing work on the Little Miami State Park trail in the following 6 areas: 

  1. Milford Trailhead. We'll be paving over the existing trail from mile marker 50.8 to mile marker 49.5 -- 1.3 miles. In addition, because the resulting trail surface will be 1.5" higher, we will be "reberming" with soil and seed.

    IMPACT: The section of trail from the Milford trailhead to Galbraith Road will be CLOSED from Monday June 9 to at least end of day Wednesday June 11 and possibly end of day June 12.

  2. Camp Dennison. We'll be paving over the existing trail from mile marker 48.9 to mile marker 48.6 -- .3 miles. In addition, because the resulting trail surface will be 1.5" higher, we will be "reberming" with soil and seed.
    IMPACT: This section of the trail from Lincoln to Cunningham will be closed on Wednesday June 11 and possibly to end of day June 12. Coming from the south, the detour around this .3 mile construction area is to turn left at Lincoln, right on Kilgour, right on Cunningham, and then left back onto the trail. Coming from the north, the detour around this .3 mile construction area is to turn right on Cunningham, left on Kilgour, left on Lincoln, and then right back onto the trail.

  3. Morrow South. From Thursday June 12 thru end of day June 13, at mile marker 29.5 on the west side of the trail, we will be cutting out a 5' x 30' section of the trail, reinforcing the bank, and then replacing the pavement.
    IMPACT: All trail users should be able to walk around the construction area to the east; cyclists should dismount.

  4. Morrow North. From Thursday June 12 to end of day June 13, at mile marker 27.5, we'll pave over a depression in the trail that resulted from a new culvert in that location last year.
    IMPACT: All trail users should be able to walk around the construction area to the east; cyclists should dismount.

  5. Corwin South. From Thursday June 12 to end of day June 13, at mile marker 16.3, a 40' section of the trail will be milled out and replaced.
    IMPACT: All trail users should be able to walk around the construction area to the west; cyclists should dismount.

  6. Richland Road North. From Thursday June 12 to end of day June 13, at mile marker 5.5, a 30' section of the trail will be milled out and replaced.
    IMPACT: All trail users should be able to walk around the construction area to the east; cyclists should dismount.

Be advised that weather may impact the above schedule.

A heart-felt "thank you" is due the 211 donors who pledged $37,000 in just 18 days last October so that we could qualify for this $150,000 RTP grant. You can feel confident that the Friends of the Little Miami State Park will continue to identify sources of funding so that we can maintain and preserve this very important regional asset and can maintain our status as the "Best Bike Trail in the State of Ohio" (Ohio Magazine's 2014 Readers Ballot).
