However, such an event requires lots and lots of volunteers, e.g. promotion, organization, recruitment of sponsors, race logistics, parking, intersection traffic control, food, t-shirts, water, scoring, awards, etc.
Therefore, before we do any more planning, we need to assess whether we can recruit enough volunteers to stage such an event --- we need a total of at least 50 volunteers.
Today is Monday August 27. By next Friday September 7, please send an email to [email protected] indicating your level of interest in volunteering for either a) pre-race promotion, organizing, and recruiting or b) race-day --- shifts will be 3 hours.
With enough people willing to volunteer, we'll continue our planning process and present those plans at upcoming monthly meetings.
