We are so grateful to the Charlotte Community Foundation for inviting us to share their beautiful building at 227 Sullivan St. Our 500 volunteers had definitely outgrown the tiny office we shared with the Punta Gorda Chamber of Commerce down the road! The Foundation is interested in seeing their building become a center for nonprofits, which we think is a fine idea. We are hoping the synergy between our missions will result in some interesting collaborative community projects. Click on this link to see our lively ribbon-cutting ceremony https://vimeo.com/146377632 - video by Bruce Tompkins.
When the Charlotte Community Foundation asked if we would like to help raise $25,000 in six weeks for needy families, we said of course we can! The Sarasota Community Foundation will match these dollars one to one, which means $50,000 will stay locally in Charlotte County. This fund is to be administered at no cost by United Way. This is a great opportunity to help and it is hard to leave $25,000 in matching funds on the table. Here's our plan: We will ask as many partner organizations as we can to join us for a meeting on Nov. 30 at the Foundation Offices at 4 p.m. to discuss a collaborative campaign. Come if you are interested in this project. Individual donations can be made by going to Charlotte Community Foundation's
website where you will be directed to Community Foundation of Sarasota, or write checks to Community Foundation of Sarasota, but be certain to designate the gift(s) to Charlotte County. We know we can do this if we all work together!

Making Bikes Beautiful
| Isn't it lovely? A work of art! |
Have you noticed the bikes around town that were painted by the Beautification Committee?
TEAM's Betsy Spagnolo and her volunteers began a NEW initiative. They are replacing some of the "older" bicycles with original bikes that are true works of art! This is a new Bicycle Art Project!
The first one is in the garden of TEAM's new office, at the driveway entrance, on Sullivan Street.
Her goal is to have artists brand a bike to the business or location where it will be placed. If you have an artistic flare and imagination, we need you for this fun activity. You'll be part of making our bikes so unique that they will be show-stoppers.
Questions? Contact Betsy at 412-303-8686.
