Hearing monks sing a Gregorian chant in an Italian chapel, coming eye-to-eye with a giraffe and eating clotted cream in a 1,000-year-old kitchen: these are among the memories vividly evoked by Adrienne, who's walked with The Wayfarers seven times and says: 'Every trip has some unique thing... Wayfarers just is magical.'

You can watch Adrienne's video here, or head over to our Facebook page to watch more short clips of Wayfarers' favorite moments.

Did you know that the Czech Republic includes a wilderness area of great beauty with wild forests, sandstone plateaus and rocky gorges? Or that it has been famous for centuries for producing fine wines?

Prebischtor, copyright German Tourist Board

The region known as 'Saxon Switzerland' includes includes one of the last untouched areas of natural forest in Europe, home to a range of rare animal and bird species such as otters and eagle owls. Our Prague to Dresden Walk takes us deep into the heart of this incredible area, revealing a landscape that few visitors even glimpse, let alone explore up close at first-hand.

I'm a huge fan of the Czech Republic and I also adore our Vienna to Prague Walk, which contrasts the modern spirit of the new Republic against the historic landscape of one of Europe's oldest countries. Much of this Walk takes us away from the tourist trails as we discover quiet towns and a peaceful pastoral landscape of woods, flowering meadows and those famed vineyards.

If you love history you'll also enjoy our Loire Walk in France. Here we visit the magnificent 12th-century Royal Abbey of Fontevraud, the final resting place of Richard the Lion-Heart and Eleanor of Aquitaine. And of course, being France, the cuisine is equally amazing and must be sampled.

I hope to see you soon on one of our Walks.

Best wishes

Treasured wines of Moravia

The sunny land of South Moravia in the Czech Republic has long been famous for its excellent wines and natural beauty. Our Vienna to Prague Walk takes us to the town of Mikulov in the heart of Moravia's wine region.

The countryside around Mikulov is dominated by the distinctive limestone silhouette of the Pálava Hills. Their majestic cliffs, steppes and forests offer a unique sanctuary for a diverse array of plant and animal life, protected by UNESCO as the Dolní Morava Biosphere Reserve. Their lower slopes provide ideal conditions for growing vines.

Wine has been made here since Roman times, but production really boomed in the 17th Century when consumption was so high that every man, woman and child drank an average of 118 pints of wine a year. The chateau wine cellar holds a giant barrel from 1643 capable of holding 135 bottles!

Mikulov is especially famous for its white wines, particularly the Veltlín green and Ryzlink rýnský, which you hardly ever see outside the region. We have the chance to sample a special selection when we spend an evening in a typical wine cellar, enjoying the added delights of local food and folk music.

Local wines are also on the menu for our Prague to Dresden Walk, which takes us along the borderland of the Czech Republic and Poland and on into Germany. Book both trips back-to-back and you can save more than 10%!

Visit our website for more details of both Walks and the double trip saving.

The Loire, River of Kings

The fabled Loire River in France is our constant companion for one of our most enchanting Walks.

Crossing undulating countryside and fertile riverbanks, we encounter a royal abbey, privately owned châteaux, vineyards and orchards, underground passageways and troglodyte caves. We dine on traditional local produce, visit a mushroom farm, sample the sparkling and still wines of Saumur, play locals at the ancient game of boules de fort and enjoy a delightful dinner on board a traditional barge on the river Loire as we watch the sun set.

This Walk is a wonderful introduction to France for those who have never visited. For those who already know and love the country, it is a marvelous chance to find out more about one of its loveliest areas.
