THE GREAT PUMPKIN

What do you say when a customer comes in and offers to bring you a GIANT 400 lbs pumpkin to display that he grew ? YOU SAY YES... OF COURSE!
George Hendry is passionate about plants and decided to take on this challenge this season.
"With the help from a friend I grew what is called a Giant Pumpkin that was from a special Pumpkin that was 1246 lb. Each day we could see the plant grow, after all, it has to grow fast to get to be a Giant. Like any hobby, it took some tender loving care, giving the right amounts of water, fertilizer, manure or compost. Our location in partial shade was not ideal, probably contributing to the small size of over 400 lb. My aim was to grow as large a pumpkin as possible, of which I am proud. For those who may be interested in growing a pumpkin to enter in the local fair, can contact me via my email ghendry3@cogeco.ca
