Greetings Gemmell's Gardeners!

I know I always seem to be talking about the weather but in this business the weather can make or break you. This spring has been nothing less than crazy for us here . Extreme heat to frost warnings and now they are calling for 35C humidity this weekend....what's a garden centre to do? Just keep on growing!

Here's what we have to do when there is a risk of frost. Every shrub, tree, rose and perennial has to be laid down and covered with frost blankets.

This is a shout out to those hardy gardeners who showed up here in the freezing cold or rain this past week with their woolies on to shop for plants. To those who faithfully brought in or covered their plants every night with all the frost warnings. True gardeners find a way to plant even when Mother Nature doesn't always cooperate.
If you've been hesitating and haven't started planting ITS NOT TOO LATE. Veggie gardens haven't even started growing yet and we just restocked all the beautiful annuals and hanging baskets.
Come on out and see us this weekend....we will have the bottled water on ice and the fans on full speed.
