SUMMER PROGRAM

We are very excited about our Summer Childcare Program. It is like no other in the area!

The teachers have worked very hard to prepare fun, educational experiences during the summer season. Children will continue building literacy, math, and science skills while doing creative projects in a relaxed family-like atmosphere. Older students will incorporate technology within project based learning.

Of course, they will also play outside as much as possible to experience the fun of summer.

Field trips are planned each week for the school age children. Younger children will have enrichment programs brought into the school. They will be very busy learning, exploring, cooking, planting and tending a garden, reading, running, playing, field trips, kickball, mission projects, art projects, building friendships and more. They will be busy doing everything except sitting in front of the TV.

Even if your child doesn't have to attend, why not have them come a few days a week to give them something really fun to do with their friends.

The summer program begins on May 28. Be sure you child wears play clothes, as we will often have messy fun.

It is very important that the kids wear tennis shoes, no flip-flops or sandals, please!

School/Childcare
Closed

The May 24th school and childcare closure is necessary for the RiverTree staff to prepare for the summer program which begins May 28th (directly after Memorial Day weekend). We hope that the inconvenience is not too great since it falls just before the holiday break.
Be sure your child only wears closed toe and heel shoes to school. Spring is here so please be sure your child has the appropriate outer wear for the outside temperatures.
Enrollment: School Year Program
Classroom space is filling up quickly. Please stop in to register your child for Kindergarten, preschool, or infant and toddler childcare.
We have only a few spots remaining for infant enrollment.

Due to increased enrollment, we must hire new teachers. As a result, we will hold the letters assigning students to classrooms until later this summer.

Please be assured that if you requested NOT to have a specific teacher, those requests will be honored.
Enrollment: Summer Childcare Program

We have some available space open for the summer program.  If you need childcare this summer, please stop in as soon as possible to register your child and reserve a spot before we reach capacity.

Registered students and families will receive letters in the mail prior to the summer program start that include the assigned classroom and a schedule of events.
Cindy Hernandez

Dear families,

As I reflect back on the year, I see how God's hand has been involved in all the aspects of our school. All honor and praise goes to Him for the strength of our program and the loving relationships built upon Jesus. I want to thank all of you for your participation and support of our school. It is so great to work together to "sprout" children who love God and to help educate and support their growth each day. We love the children as a part of our family and miss them when they move on.

As the school year program ends, we look forward to our summer program which is less structured and more creative. The children are going to have tons of fun with each week's theme! It is learning incorporated into playtime with a purpose. We strive to make our school the next best place to home.

This August, we'll introduce the infant nursery for children as young as six weeks old. We are also restructuring our curriculum delivery to help meet the upper level requirements of the Third Grade Reading Guarantee. Our teams of teachers are working together to build a structural flow of the Ohio Common Core standards-based instruction from infancy through Kindergarten. Our goal is to be sure that students who leave our school are reading ready at the appropriate level.

As always, our first goal is to support families and teach children about Jesus. We look forward to the opportunity to continue doing just that!

RiverTree Christian Church has such a loving community of Christ followers. If you don't already have a church home, we invite you to come to our weekly Gatherings to thrive and grow in a relationship with Jesus. There is something here for everyone.

Teacher Appreciation Week

The week of May 6th is Teacher Appreciation Week. If you would like to honor your child's teacher(s), please take note of the "Teacher's Favorite Things" posted on their classroom bulletin boards.

May 8th is the staff appreciation luncheon held at the school from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.  A sign-up sheet is posted in the Welcome Center if you would like to participate by providing a food item. Cash donations to help will be taken at the school office. The parents will have the opportunity to honor our staff at this luncheon. If you have questions, please call the school office.
Kindergarten Last Day of School:
A celebration for kindergarten students will be held on May 23rd from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.  Parents are encouraged to attend.   Miss Kelly will send out information regarding this special event.
Last Day of the School Year
All students who normally attend on May 22nd and/or May 23rd
will participate in Field Day events.  Included at the end of these fun events is the celebration of each student's movement on to the next level of school.  Teachers will honor preschool age students with certificates.  Ice Cream treats will be provided.  We invite parents to attend both the field day event and the celebration of school for the students' last day.  We also need volunteers to run the field day stations.

Registration forms for this event will be distributed through each classroom for the event.  For security reasons, you must let us know in advance the names of those attending.

NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER

Thursday, May 2, was National Day of Prayer.

Each class did something special to participate in this national event. It is important that the children know that Christians all over the United States are praying for our country and its people to come to Christ as Savior. We also prayed for protection against enemies and for God to bless our country.

Things students did:

  • Praed

  • Talked about the meaning of the National Day of Prayer.

  • Read from the Bible

  • Participated in a prayer walk
