5 Must-Do's to Get Organized for Summer Fun
- Make a date with your closet. It's time to make sure your closet
is ready for the summer season. While you are trading out the the sweaters for sundresses, take a look at what you are putting away. Weed out what you don't love, and make a bag of items to donate. - Stash the winter stuff. Now that your closet is ready, go around the rest of your home and put away your winter items, including boots, hats, mittens, heavy coats, boot trays, snow shovels, skis and sleds. The key here is to actually put the items away. If they don't have a summer storage spot, make room.
- Make plans for fun. Take 15 minutes and think about what you want to do this summer. Then order those baseball tickets, do the research on your trip, and get some fun events on your calendar.
- Get the gear. Are you ready for your summer adventures? Make sure the towels, sunblock, sunglasses, and flip flops are ready to go. Do you have charcoal for the grill? The right backpack for your trip? Do the kids' have what they need for camp? If not, make a list and do some shopping.
- Organize the outside. Summer is all about being outside. Get out the grill, pull out the patio furniture, set up an outdoor bar, and put up the hammock.
Now you are ready to relax and enjoy some summer fun!

Especially for Parents: Organizing My Daughter's Craft Space
A kid's craft area can be one of the most challenging spaces for parents to organize. Believe me, I know this first hand!
My recent blog post shared how I worked with my daughter to create an amazing craft space. After a few false starts, we finally found some systems that work - and my daughter continues to be able to quickly tidy up the space.
