Tune in to That's Neat! Organizing on TV
This week I appeared in the premier episode of paper pile a great new local cable TV show called "This Mom Needs Help!" The show gives tips and hints from a variety of professionals to help moms save time, reduce frustration, and feel better about their busy lives.

Watch my "Get Organized" episode online, and all future episodes with amazing women at www.thismomneedshelp.comIf you are in Lexington you can view the show every Thursday in March at 9pm on Channel 8 on Comcast, Channel 3 on RCN, or Channel 35 on Verizon.

Appearing in this episode was very fun. Check it out and let me know what you think!

On Wednesday March 13th at 9pm you may get a glimpse of me on TLC's "Hoarding: Buried Alive." I volunteered on a crew of organizers that helped clear out a hoarder's home. It was quite an experience!  Working with hoarders is not my niche, but I feel fortunate to have helped - and to see behind the scenes of this popular TV show. I'm not sure how much the episode will show of the supporting organizer crew so I'm excited to watch and see how it turned out.
5 Favorite Clutter-Clearing Projects for Spring

Here are some quick ways to clear out the winter clutter and make room for Spring. Tackle one, or all over the next two months. I guarantee that you'll feel better!

  1. Front hall/closet: Take a look at what has piled up over the winter in this area. Hang up coats. Put away shoes. What else can be put away? What doesn't even belong here? After you de-clutter, sweep and clean the space. It's also good feng shui to have a tidy entrance!
  2. Paper pile in the kitchen: Counters are a magnet forpapers basket paper clutter. Spend 15 minutes attacking the paper pile: sort, recycle, and file what has accumulated. For more help with controlling your paper piles, read tips from my blog
  3. Bags: Whether you carry a purse, wallet, diaper bag, backpack, work bag, or all of the above, spend some time cleaning out your bags. Recently my husband found a thumb drive he had been looking for everywhere in the bottom of his work bag. If you have kids, get them involved with clearing out their backpacks
  4. Donations: Do you have a few bags of clothing, books or housewares you've been meaning to donate? Now is the time to get them out of the house. Find those bags, take them immediately to the car, and make a note to swing by the donation bins this week. Or even better, call an organization who will pick up the donations right from your home!
  5. Your car: Head outside and take a good look at what has been cluttering up your car. The #1 thing to do is tcar trashoss the junk: paper scraps, receipts you don't need, trash, and other random things that have accumulated. Put away toys and sports stuff your family isn't currently using. Take a look in the glove box and the trunk.
