CHRISTINE HADSEL: SUSPENDED WORLDS
Saturday, August 1st from 3-6pm at Shelburne Farms
 Join us for a book launch celebration with Christine Hadsel, author of the new book Suspended Worlds, at the Coach Barn at Shelburne Farms. There will be light refreshments and a cash bar, and Christine will give a short talk with photos of New England's fantastic stage scenery at 5pm. The "flower garden" painted curtain from the Moretown Town Hall will be on display. Hadsel is the Director of Curtains without Borders. Free and open to all. Read More.

MARY JANE DICKERSON & TAMRA J. HIGGINS: CONJURING VOICES OF THE PAST
Thursday, August 6th at 7pm in Burlington
 Join us in listening to, learning about, and discussing poetry. Mary Jane Dickerson and Tamra J. Higgins will speak on "Conjuring Voices of the Past: The Convergence of History and Poetry" as part of the Sundog Poetry Center's Poets and Their Craft Lecture Series. Dickerson has two collections of poetry, Tapping the Center of Things and Water Journeys in Art and Poetry. Higgins is the author of Nothing Saved Us: Poems of the Korean War and co-editor of Tasteful Traditions: A Collection of Cambridge History, Memories, and Family Recipes. Free & open to all.Read More.

EDWARD RUBIN: VERMONT - AN OUTSIDER'S INSIDE VIEW
Thursday, August 13th at 7pm in Burlington
 Join Edward Rubin for a talk on his new book, Vermont: An Outsider's Inside View. Rubin has been called a "narrative photographer," and this book tells stories of both individuals and Vermont itself. Rubin's talk will touch on three elements integral to great photography, namely composition, light, and content. He'll also discuss how he took the photos in the book, including his technique for putting people (sometimes complete strangers) at ease and then capturing something real about them.
Tickets are $3 per person, and include a coupon for $5 off Vermont: An Outsider's Inside View. Tickets are available at either Phoenix Books location, and coupons expire at closing the evening of the event. Seating is limited. Read more.
