Tricia Huebner, a Rutland community leader who has served a variety of local nonprofit organizations, will join Phoenix Books Rutland as the store manager and minority owner with her husband, Tom.
In announcing her hiring and partnership, which includes an investment in the community-supported enterprise, co-owner Michael DeSanto said Huebner was a perfect fit for the new store, expected to open late this summer.

Arnie Kozak: The Awakened Introvert Workshop
Saturday, July 11th at 2pm in Burlington
 Join Arnie Kozak for a 90-minute workshop drawing on the experiential exercises in his book The Awakened Introvert. This workshop will help introverts - and also extroverts who want to tap into their introverted strengths of quiet and solitude - awaken to their full potential through mindfulness. Arnie Kozak, PhD, is a psychotherapist, clinical assistant professor in psychiatry at the University of Vermont College of Medicine, and workshop leader at the Barre Center for Buddhist Studies and the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health. Tickets are $20 per person, and include a coupon for $15 off a book by Arnie Kozak.

WIZARD OF OZ STORY TIME WITH ST. MICHAEL'S PLAYHOUSE JUNIOR
Wednesday, July 22nd at 6pm in Essex
 Saint Michael's Playhouse Junior Company will visit Phoenix Books Essex to read The Wizard of Oz and sing some favorite songs from the musical! Saint Michael's Playhouse Junior is performing The Wizard of Oz from July 31st through August 2nd. This charming stage adaptation for young audiences is complete with munchkins, witches, winged monkeys, and the great and powerful Oz himself.
