Farm Fête Fundraiser - Raised over $35,000

The Great Lakes Children's Museum's 15th annual gala fundraiser, Farm Fête, was fabulous party! Great food, delightful venue, fine wine, enjoyable entertainment, and fun folks in attendance. It was also a very successful fundraiser for the Great Lakes Children's Museum.
We raised over $35,000 for programs and operations at the Museum. The +PLUS appeal brought in $2,500 matching gifts from former members of the Board of Trustees before the event. The night of the event, we surpassed the match, raising another $4,500. That means we raised $7,000 that is specifically earmarked to offer free admissions to disadvantaged children and families in our community. To learn more about supporting the +PLUS, program contact the Museum.
Kudos to everyone involved! To see a list of the gala sponsors and supporters, click here. |

NanoDays - Biggest Event for Smallest Science!
Monday, March 25 - Friday, March 29, 11 am - 3 pm
From Monday, March 25 through Friday, March 29, we will again be participating in NanoDays: The Biggest Event for the Smallest Science! This program provides opportunities for school-aged children to explore cutting-edge science during spring break.
Enter the world of the extremely small! Drop in and enjoy the fun of participating in hands-on Nano Science investigations. You will be fascinated by things so small that you can't even see them with your own eyes! There will be opportunities for both children and adults to explore the miniscule world of atoms, molecules, and nanoscale forces. A range of exciting NanoDays programs demonstrate the special and unexpected properties found at the nanoscale.
NanoDays is organized by the Nanoscale Informal Science Education Network (NISE Net), and takes place across the county. This community-based event is the largest public outreach effort in nanoscale informal science education and involves museums, research centers, and universities from Puerto Rico to Alaska.
Recommended for children ages 5 and up. (Younger children will need the help of a parent.) |
