Sunday's Scripture Snippet

"Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."

Matthew 11

High School Youth Day Trip
to Ichetucknee Springs State Park

Join us for fun and fellowship as we float in tubes down this awesome lazy river near High Springs, Florida!  We will depart from St. John's Church on Saturday, August 2, at 8:30 a.m. and return to the church by 6:30 p.m.

Wear your swimsuit, cover up, and sunscreen, and bring $8 for park admission/transportation, a towel, a water bottle, a change of clothes, river-appropriate footwear (aqua socks, chacos, etc), and money for lunch and snacks. Deadline to register with Chaplain HQ is Friday, July 25. Email her at [email protected] to RSVP.

The Men's Ministry

The Men's Ministry will not meet during July or August, and the group has determined that the timing of the first Tuesday in September, just after Labor Day, will make it hard to meet that month as well. Therefore, we will resume on Tuesday, October 7, at 6:00 p.m. in the Parish Hall. The group will still have the same fine food, and possibly some wine for early birds. A speaker will be announced later in the summer.  If you have ideas for speakers, please contact Ron Walker at [email protected]. See you in the fall!

Wednesday Nights at St. John's
(Parish Hall)
Tonight the group will conclude GodQuest, a 6-week DVD series and small group study which brings the truth of Christianity to life in a personal and relevant way to those who have doubts about its validity. Sean McDowell presents historical, scientific, and archaeological evidence for the existence of God, the truth of the Bible, and the deity of Christ. Also features Lee Strobel and Josh McDowell.

This series answers this most critical challenge facing the Church today. It will help to develop a strong foundation for faith and is an excellent resource for outreach to seekers, offering powerful truths and compelling evidences for faith in Christ. It is a life-altering spiritual journey every person should take!

This group meets each Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. Bring a Bible, a covered dish to share, and an open heart and mind. Contact Paul and Winkie Game at [email protected] for details.
