Happy New Year and welcome to 2014! This year I decided to try something new and make my New Year's resolution in November, when I was actually inspired to put it into immediate effect. After years of avoiding social media, I decided to ease in gently; I'm starting with Pinterest. Where Do All Those "Pin It" Links Go, Anyway?
Pinterest is the modern version of the good, old-fashioned bulletin board: it harkens back to a time when I would flip through magazines to find inspiring looks, exciting destinations or just cool things I wanted to remember. Back then I would physically cut out the images and pin them on my cork board. Sometimes I would cut out something that made me think of a good friend and I would send it to her...using a real envelope and stamp no less! As my passion for finding inspiration has evolved, I've realized I can revive my love of "pinning" online with Pinterest. And not only can I share with everyone I know, but I am now exposed to exponentially more content that others have collected and curated as well, from great looks to recipes, party and gift ideas and lots more. Let's Pin Together! So this is my invitation for you to follow my Pins and to share yours with me. If you're already active on Pinterest, just search for my name and follow me. If you've waited as long as I have, I encourage you to get in there - it's an exciting new world full of amazing inspiration and ideas. I've been having an absolute blast with it! Signing up is a snap: - Go to Pinterest and click Join Pinterest.
- Choose to sign up using email, Facebook or Twitter.
- Follow the steps to sign up and create an account.
- Search for me by either typing my name in the search box and clicking Pinners - OR - click on your name in the top right and choose Find Friends in the drop-down menu to find friends on Facebook and Twitter.
- Want more info? Read about the basics of using Pinterest here.
Tune in next month when I actually join the Facebook community. I can't wait to find out what happens next!
