HEALTHY CHOICES DAY
Healthy Choices Day is Friday, March 1st!
Healthy Choices Day is an opportunity to educate our
Sage Canyon kids about the importance of exercise,
making healthy food choices, practicing good
dental health, and being sun smart.
We have many fun activities planned, including:
Food Revolution, Roadrunners Double Stamps
Jimbo's will be on hand to pass out orange slices!
Rocking Recess with Mr. Tracy
MMA Academy Classes/Demonstration
Scripps Performing Arts Academy Classes/Demonstration
ESC Healthy Curriculum, Dental Visit for Kindergarteners
& Healthy Goodie Bags!
RECIPE CONTESTDo you have a healthy recipe that kids will actually eat?
Please submit your favorite healthy recipe to
Jimbo's will review your recipe and the winners will be
announced at the end of Healthy Choices Day!
HEALTHY FAMILY DINNER NIGHTUrban Plates will be partnering with Sage Canyon
to offer delicious, fresh, and organic dinners in conjunction
with Healthy Choices Day! Bring your family to dinner
on Tuesday, February 26th or call in an order and use
their convenient curbside pick up.

Whole Foods MarketŪ Del Mar Celebrates Grand Opening
with Community Giving Day on March 6 to Benefit
Del Mar Schools Education Foundation.
To demonstrate Whole Foods Market's commitment to the community,
the company's new Del Mar store will donate five percent of the
day's net sales on March 6 to the Del Mar Schools Education Foundation.
The donation will support the ESC Program that focuses on art,
physical education, science, technology and music in schools.
SAGE CANYON'S USED BOOK SALE
The annual Used Book Sale will be held from March 11-13 in the MUR.
Start cleaning out those bookshelves and closets for gently used:
* Adult and children's hardcover and paperback books
* Board games and puzzles, Software/computer games
* CDs, DVDs, Audio books on CD (no VHS tapes or cassettes please)
Donations can be brought to the Library during school hours.

Wednesday, March 20
The Annual Sage Canyon Jogathon will take place on Wednesday, March 20th.
All proceeds will go directly towards our ESC program!
These are our amazing art, science, music, technology and PE teachers.

JR. OLYMPICS!
Wednesday, March 27 from 12:45pm to 2:30pm
The
Jr. Olympics Skills Competition is a free skills competition
that provides boys and girls, ages 8 to 13, the opportunity to
showcase their athletic abilities in four (4) sports:
basketball, soccer, tennis and track & field.
Participation is voluntary.
However, for those students who wish to participate, they must
return a parent-signed registration form by Friday, March 22.
Registration forms are available in the front office.
