THE DEL MAR SCHOOLS EDUCATION
FOUNDATION NEEDS YOUR HELP!We are looking for parents to act as Grade Level Ambassadors
in Grades K, 1, 2, 4. Grade level Ambassadors act as a conduit
between the DMSEF Sage Canyon Board Representative and
the parents/room parents for that grade.
The commitment is minimal, and is a great way to become
involved in achieving the Board's Financial
Goals of supporting our ESC Teachers.
In addition, we need more Sage Canyon
representation on the DMSEF Board.
For more information, and if you are interested in becoming
involved, please contact Nancy Benbow at
nancybenbow@yahoo.com or 858-232-4838.
JR. OLYMPICS IS COMING SOON!
The Jr. Olympics Skills Competition is a free skills competition
that provides boys and girls, ages 8 to 13, the opportunity to
showcase their athletic abilities in four (4) sports:
basketball, soccer, tennis and track & field
(50 meter dash and standing broad jump).
The Jr. Olympic Skills Competition event at Sage Canyon
will take place on Wednesday, March 27th after
school from 12:45pm to 2:30pm.
The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in each sport, each age group,
and each gender will receive a ribbon for their accomplishment.
The 1st place winners will also be invited to compete at the
DMUSD district competition against other students in our district.
Participation in this event is voluntary.
Students can participate in any or all of the individual sports.
Each sport is scored individually, boys and girls compete separately,
and age groups are broken down as follows
(age is determined as of August 31, 2013): 8-9, 10-11, 12-13.
However, for those students who wish to participate, they must
return a parent-signed registration form, by Friday, March 22th.
Registration forms are available in the front office and a packet
will be sent home with every student above the age of 8.
We need parent volunteers to help run the event on March 27th.
If interested in volunteering, or for more information,
please contact Trent Tracy, at ttracy@dmusd.org.
