Join the Sage Canyon PTA for coffee with  

Dr. Peg LaRose to discuss the
NEW COMMON CORE STANDARDS IN MATHEMATICS
Dr. LaRose and several teachers will provide information  

and hands on experiences related to the new Common  

Core Standards in Mathematics. Also featured will be highlights  

of the professional development in the instructional methodology,  

Cognitively Guided Instruction (CGI), that Sage Canyon teachers are  

utilizing to support students' conceptual understanding in mathematics  

that aligns with the Common Core Standards.

THE 8th ANNUAL SAGE CANYON
FAMILY SCIENCE FAIR
Proposals are due Monday, December 10th 
All student project proposals are due to Ms. Cavallini by December 10.
(All 6th graders will receive information from Mrs. Asselin/Mrs. Davis)
The Science Fair is non-competitive and open to all students!

Science Fair Calendar and Science Fair Guidelines.
You must have an approved Science Fair Proposal to
submit a project to the Science Fair. 
For those with approved projects, display boards -- once again generously
provided by the Sage Canyon PTA -- will be available in early December! 
The Winter Break will be a great time to work on your project!

CAMPUS SAFETY MESSAGE

For the safety of all students and staff:
Please note that riding a skateboard, Razor scooter or

electric scooter is not permitted on the Sage Canyon campus.  

If a family elects to have their child use a skateboard or  

scooter as transportation to and from school, the student  

must secure the skateboard or scooter in a backpack  

prior to stepping on campus.

10th annual Speak Up National Research Project.

 

The Speak Up National Research Project collects and reports  

on the authentic, unfiltered views and opinions of K-12 students,  

parents and educators on critical 21st century  

education and technology issues.

THE IMAGINATION MACHINE
IS RETURNING TO SAGE CANYON!!

The Imagination Machine is a school assembly program
that celebrates our students' writing through a live performance
of their short stories.  A group of four professional actors
will select a small number of stories among those submitted
by our students and bring them to life!
