HOLIDAY GIVING TREE

It is that time of year again and the holiday season is upon us!
The Sage Canyon Kids Korps USA chapter is proud to present another
year of the school-wide Holiday Giving Tree.
The Holiday Giving Tree gives our Sage families the opportunity to
give back to those in need throughout San Diego County.
We have "adopted" families from
three organizations throughout the county:
1. Armed Services YMCA Camp Pendleton "Secret Santa"
Military families whose loved ones are deployed overseas and
also for those military families at home that can't afford gifts.
2. Toussaint Academy
Serves homeless teenagers in need throughout San Diego County.
3. Friends of Scott Foundation
A non-profit organization that raises money and works
hand in hand with children with cancer
and their families through Rady Children's Hospital
and other cancer organizations.
We have collected a "holiday wish list" from each family.
Over 200 items will be listed on hundreds of apples on
our Holiday Giving Tree.
Please plan on joining us Wednesday before or after school
at the lunch tables near the MUR.
Instructions for picking an apple from The Holiday Giving
Tree will be sent out in an eBlast on Tuesday afternoon.

1ST ANNUAL CARMEL VALLEY
5K & KID'S FUN RUN
December 8, 2012
All proceeds going to the DMSEF
There are only 15 spots left for the 5K
and 50 spots left for the fun run!
RACE BIB & GOODY BAG PICK UP INFORMATION:
When: Thursday, December 6th
Time: 3:00pm to 6:00pm
Where: Torrey Hills Shopping Center
Please bring a photo ID
There will be NO Race Day Registration or Packet Pick-up.
RACE DAY INFORMATION:
Race Location: Carmel Del Mar Elementary School
12345 Carmel Park Drive
Plan to arrive at the start AT LEAST 45minutes before
your race start time! Parking will be difficult, so please plan ahead.
There will be no parking in the school lot and there will
be some roads closed for the 5K.
Race Time:5k starts promptly at 7:30am
1-mile kid's fun run starts promptly at 9:00am
Post Party:The Post Party is for everyone, not just runners!
Hours will be from 8:00am to 11:30am on the black top of Carmel Del Mar

THE 8TH ANNUAL SAGE CANYON
FAMILY SCIENCE FAIR
January 14 to January 18
All student project proposals are due to Ms. Cavallini by December 10.
(All 6th graders will receive information from Mrs. Asselin/Mrs. Davis)
The Science Fair is non-competitive and open to all students!

You must have an approved Science Fair Proposal to
submit a project to the Science Fair.
For those with approved projects, display boards -- once again generously
provided by the Sage Canyon PTA -- will be available in early December!
The Winter Break will be a great time to work on your project!
