Craig Williams My name is Craig Williams, and I am the COO at Tufts Medical Center, and the Development Chair on the Center for Collaborative Leadership board of advisors. I attribute my senior leadership position at the hospital in part thanks to the skills I learned, and the connections I made through the Emerging Leaders Program (ELP) when I was a fellow in 2007.

I am an ambassador for ELP because it gave me many of the skills and the confidence I use on a daily basis as a leader at Tufts. A few years ago, I contacted my connections advocating on behalf of the program which resulted in two new organizations sending fellows to the 2013 Emerging Leaders Program.

Think about what you gained from ELP and pay it forward. Nominate someone you know who has the potential to be a great leader and make a difference in their professional growth. Nominations for the program are due by April 9.

Sincerely,

Craig Williams

YMCA Training, Inc. - Volunteers Needed
YMCA Training, Inc. provides a 20-week business simulated instructional learning program for adults seeking to enhance their professional growth. Our trainees specialize in developing industry specific computerized administrative, finance, and medical office skills. As part of our curriculum, trainees have opportunities to enhance their customer service skill development and delivery by answering calls from volunteers in our simulated call center office. They are currently recruiting volunteers to make "mock" customer services calls, and they wondered if either current Emerging Leaders fellows and, or Alum would have interest in participating. A volunteer's role is simple and short. They provide each volunteer with calling instructions and an easy script to follow. They ask that volunteers call continuously within their self selected scheduled 15, 30, 45, or 60 minute timeframes and give brief feedback to the trainees at the end of each call. The average length of a call is typically between 5-7 minutes (including feedback). For added convenience, volunteers can make calls from their home, place of employment, or other preferred location. There are usually multiple practice call center sessions scheduled within each 20-week training cycle. However, their immediate need is for the upcoming calling series scheduled to commence on March 25 and 28 between 9:00 am and 12:00 pm. Additional calling dates are as follows: April 1, 4, 7, 14, 28 and May 13 and 14. If interested, please contact Genesia Eddins.
