No increase for 2016 Tier 2 wage cap
|
For 2016, Tier 2 member wages do not include compensation in excess of $111,571.63. This reflects no increase from the 2015 Tier 2 wage cap.
Employers will continue to report earnings over $111,571.63, but will not withhold any IMRF contributions for wages above the cap. IMRF will not accept contributions for 2016 wages over $111,571.63 for Tier 2 members.
The wage cap period is based on the calendar year, regardless of your employer's fiscal year. If an employer has Tier 2 members who've reached the wage cap in 2015, the employer must resume withholding and reporting IMRF member contributions for those members beginning in January 2016.
For questions about implementing the Tier 2 wage cap, contact IMRF using the Employer-only phone, 1-800-728-7971.

Remember: Employer Survey Needs Your Response
|
On Tuesday, November 3, employers received an email asking Authorized Agents and administrators to complete IMRF's 2015 Employer Satisfaction Survey.
IMRF will send a reminder to those who have not yet completed the survey on November 16. Authorized Agents and administrators are encouraged to respond and return the survey.
Participation in this survey will help IMRF continue to provide the highest quality retirement services to our employers and our members. The Employer-only phone, 1-800-728-7971, is one example of IMRF's service-oriented response to survey feedback.
