IMRF earns a 2012 ILPEx Silver Award for Progress Toward Excellence


IMRF is proud to announce that in recognition of our "sound and notable continuous improvement process," we earned a 2012 ILPEx Silver Award for "Progress toward Excellence."

 

IMRF was one of six organizations that received the 2012 ILPEx Awards for Excellence. These awards recognize leading Illinois organizations that contribute to the state's overall economic development and ethical competitiveness. IMRF was one of only two organizations that received the Silver Award. Four organizations received the Bronze Award for "Commitment to Excellence."   

 

IMRF is honored to receive this recognition from the ILPEx. IMRF is constantly working to improve our operating practices. By doing so, we ensure we're able to continue to provide a high level of service to our members and employers at the most reasonable cost to the taxpayer.    

Form 5.41, Employer Statement--Disability Claim, now available in Employer Access 

IMRF Form 5.41, Employer Statement--Disability Claim is now available in Employer Access. This form is required as part of a member's application for disability benefits.  
It's not too late to register for Employer Rate Meetings or the Rate Meeting Webinar! 
  
Registration is still open for the 2013 Rate Meeting Webinar as well as the Employer Rate Meetings throughout the state.

Topics to be covered in these meetings include:
  • Impact of IMRF's 2012 investment return to employers' funded status, reserves, and contribution rates
  • Potential impact of year-to-date 2013 and future year returns
  • Proposed pension-related legislation 
Please provide a copy of the webinar invitation to your governing body members and to others at your employer you think may be interested in learning more about IMRF.  
2013 GASB 68 CAFR Employer Questionnaire  

IMRF is working with our actuaries to determine how we will calculate the information employers will need to meet GASB 68 requirements.

If you haven't already, we ask that you respond to three three brief questions about your employer's annual financial statement and their auditors. This survey should be completed by the individual responsible for preparing your annual financial statement, e.g., your chief financial officer.
Board Meeting Highlights

At the March 2013 Board meeting, the Board:
  • Discussed an asset allocation review with the IMRF investment consultant, and and discussed an Asset Liability Modeling Study for this summer 
  • Heard a Legislative Update
  • Tabled a discussion about future ECO rate calculations
