TTCF Awarded Nonprofit of the Year by Truckee Chamber of Commerce!
Government Award Spread from Chamber of Commerce
Celebrating all of us.

Truckee Chamber of Commerce hosted a fantastic event celebrating the people, businesses, and organizations that make our community such a great place to live and visit. TTCF was honored to accept the award for Nonprofit of the Year. Still none of the work we do is possible without the support of our community, partners, donors, and past and present board members. We are honored to accept this award on behalf of all of the people who stop into our offices, who partner and collaborate with us, who invite us to share our stories and work, who volunteer to speak on panels or serve on committees, and to all of you whose donations and support allow us to offer more comprehensive services to our nonprofits. Thank you for making us Nonprofit of the Year.
Over 40 Grants Awarded in Inaugural Consolidated Grant Cycle.

Building a stronger social sector.

To better serve our nonprofits and community members, TTCF streamlined our previously separate funding streams into one grant cycle. Our volunteer grant committee once again made some of the toughest decisions in our work, but we are happy to say that our grant cycle was a success. Deliverables included:
  • Increased funding from Queen of Hearts, Tahoe Donner Giving Fund, and a generous $100,000 match from Martis Fund for our largest Nature Grant Cycle to date!
  • A single, simplified common application.
  • 28 mission-driven grants to nonprofits with proven track records for more than $150,000 in crucial, but difficult to find, unrestricted funding.
  • Matching projects with multiple funding streams.
  • An overall snapshot of the health and trends of our local nonprofit community to inform the many ways we serve our nonprofits beyond the grants.
Give Back Tahoe Giving Season Commences November 29th!
Give Back Tahoe heart
How you can help nonprofits earn more dollars.

From #GivingTuesday through December 31st, our community celebrates our third Give Back Tahoe Giving Guide season! Over 60 nonprofits have submitted descriptions of their "Community Impact" which will be promoted before and throughout the Giving Season in partnership with Sierra Sun in both a printed directory and online giving portal. Make sure you pick up November 23rd's Sierra Sun so that you can get your own copy of the Giving Guide and find the nonprofit causes that align with your interests. Tahoe - Truckee's local radio station 101.5 KTKE has also partnered with us in order to keep you and their 15,000 app listeners up to date on challenge grants and drive momentum behind the giving. In the meantime, you can help by spreading the word and finding out if your employer offers a corporate donation match at http://www.matchinggifts.com/stanford/. It's an easy way to double your donations!
Unlike-Minded People Will Change the World.
A perspective on effective community engagement.
Community Members gathered for music and fun.

In 2012, Google assembled a research team in order to decipher the formula for successful teams. Project Aristotle, composed of researchers, statisticians, engineers, sociologists, and psychologists, discovered that it is not the sum total of the best and brightest individuals that equates to success. Instead, it is unlike-minded people with different experiences and expertise that are most equipped to answer life's most challenging tasks- they just have to work together and get along. But how do so many different people reach a common ground?
How Our Community is Working
Education Report Card
to Close the Achievement Gap.
The Community Collaborative of Tahoe Truckee (CCTT) releases the 2016 Education Report Card.

CCTT first released the Community Report Cards in 2007. By measuring community indicators and providing real-time data, the Report Cards highlight regional economic well-being, health, and education trends. This data has helped local agencies develop and adapt strategies and programs to serve our community. So what do we have to show after nine years of intentional collaboration across sectors and industries? Find out where our community stands on Education here.
