Board Governance Series - Don't Miss Out!
Lead strong, productive nonprofit boards.
On Give Back Tahoe's online volunteer module, 17 nonprofits are seeking board members. After funding, most local nonprofit leaders prioritize stronger board governance as one of their greatest needs. For this reason, TTCF will once again deliver our Board Governance Series this October. The four-part workshop series is delivered in three parts: Theory, Practice, and Interactive Application blending the best thinking on board governance through leading sources. The series covers Board Responsibility and Culture, Financial Stewardship, Effective Planning, and Fundraising.
Workshops are held at Sierra College's Truckee Campus at $50 per class. Scholarships are available to help emerging leaders successfully step into board service. Graduates from the North Lake Tahoe - Truckee Leadership Program and Queen of Hearts Women's Fund supporters can apply if they are willing to attend entire series. A minimum of 20 participants are required to run each session. Learn more or register now to elevate your leadership skills. For more information, contact Ashley Cooper at (530) 587-1776 or ashley@ttcf.net.

Donor Highlight: Christy Curtis, TTCF Business Supporter
Cultivating Community.
Christy Curtis, of Christy Curtis and Crew, moved to Truckee in 1978 in order to create a life of her favorite childhood vacation memories. Right out of college, she embarked upon a successful real estate career and quickly became a valued member of our community. Christy has volunteered, served on local boards of directors, and helped new homeowners become engaged community members. This year, she joined TTCF's Business Supporter Program to make a donation in honor of her clients to TTCF to deploy into the community for each house she sells. Read Christy's story and how this program benefits the whole community. If you're interested in participating in TTCF's Business Supporter program, contact Itzi Camio, CFO, at itzi@ttcf.net or (530) 587-1776.

Staff Updates at TTCF
In August, Lisa Krueger resigned from her position as TTCF's Chief Advancement Officer. While at TTCF as both an employee and consultant, Lisa made significant contributions inside our mission and we are very proud of her work. Lisa decided to return to her consulting practice, and we wish her the very best.
We are very happy to welcome Ashley Cooper to the team in the role of Communications and Grant Manager. Ashley has worked with TTCF for over two years, previously in the role of Storyteller. Each time you read a Sierra Sun article, one of our newsletters, or other collateral, you are reading her work. We are excited to engage Ashley in this new role in which she manages year-round communications and also supports the grant work through our consolidated grant cycle and Give Back Tahoe.
