Our region faces a spectrum of complex housing issues. To identify these issues and act on effective solutions, TTCF, CCTT, key stakeholders, and community partners recently completed the 2016 Regional Housing Study. TTCF and our community stakeholders now turn our eyes towards solutions. To that end we will  be presenting to the community highlights from the study and recommendations to move forward. The first presentation takes place at Truckee Town Council August 23rd

Queen of Hearts Engages Women as Leaders
QoH Poppies
Initiatives to cultivate leaders.

The August 4th Annual Queen of Hearts Event celebrated ten years worth of accomplishments while looking towards the future. As part of the Women's Fund's goal to inspire and engage women in leadership roles, we revealed two opportunities:
  1. Inspire and prepare more leaders in our community- Supporters willing to commit to serving a local nonprofit board can fill out an interest form to attend October's Board Governance Series  on scholarship.
  2. Build a more inclusive network of women leaders- Through two generous donors, the next 25 women who join the Fund will unlock a sponsored space for a woman who demonstrates leadership skills and the desire to create positive change in our region. Our Fund supporters can recommend women in our community here.

If you are a supporter or are interested in becoming one, visit www.ttcf.net to learn more.

All Grant Cycles Open for Application
GRANT NOTICE
Consolidated grants process now open.

TTCF hosted a series of information sessions for our nonprofits last month to share our new approach to grantmaking. The process streamlines our independent grant applications, as well as 2016 Giving Guide registration, into a single common application. Grant committee representatives use the common application to award dollars from the separate funding sources to the programs and projects that have the greatest community impact. This new process has three benefits:
  • Nonprofits spend more time on their missions, less time applying for grants
  • An annual snapshot informs TTCF of the progress and needs of our nonprofits
  • You still give to the grant cycles and areas of impact you love most knowing that your dollars are being stewarded responsibly
TTCF is proud to continue facilitating grants from the following funds: Queen of Hearts Women's Fund, Open Competitive, Nature Grant Cycle, Tahoe Donner Giving Fund. Learn more.
