Good Apps, Bad Apps

ACU's Anna Gard, FNP-BC warns that not every health app is worthy. In fact, some make false and potentially harmful health claims and they purport to cure everything from flabby abs to alcoholism. Read her blog post Beware of Snake Oil for tips for finding the apps that  have been vetted and verified.

Focus on Pharmacy Issues

lamb Clinical pharmacist Michelle Lamb, Pharm.D., CDE, BCACP, takes pride in being part of a transdisciplinary health care team. She recently sat for an interview for the ACU audio story bank in which she describes combining high tech (using health IT to enhance patient care) with and high touch (delivering information tailored to the patient's culture and literacy level) in caring for patients with diabetes. Listen to the interview online here.

Michelle is also a member of the ACU Advocacy Committee and submitted a blog post on a legislative threat to access to certain injectable drugs in the 340B drug pricing program. Under the guise of addressing drug shortages, certain drugs would no longer be available to 340B programs.  Learn more here.
