Dear WGC Donors and Friends,
The Women's Giving Circle's theme for our 2013 Annual Meeting is "The Changing Face of Philanthropy." And this year we are doing something very different and interactive as we engage as a group in a conversation about philanthropy. You should already have received the Save the Date for this meeting to be held on June 10th. And look for the invitation to be sent via email in the next couple of weeks.
Spring is a very busy time for the WGC. Our signature program, Journey, is in its eighth year and has recently completed the process of receiving all the applications for this year's session. Another major initiative for us is the annual distribution of the WGC Grants. This year's grants have recently been awarded to Community Action Council, Grassroots Crisis Intervention Center, Domestic Violence Center of Howard County, FIRN (Foreign Born Information Referral Network), Healthy Families, Bridges to Housing Stability, Leadership Howard County and Howard Community College.
In March, in partnership with Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Lab (APL), a well-attended and successful "Girl Power" STEM Expo was held. Over 700 families with their daughters were exposed to STEM careers via exhibits, hands-on activities and opportunities to meet and talk to professional women in their fields of interest.
And next Monday, April 8th, the WGC will host its third annual "Women in Wine" event at the Iron Bridge Wine Company. Tickets are still available and can be obtained via the WGC's website.
So many opportunities for you to engage in activities to support The Women's Giving Circle and address the needs of women and girls in Howard County. Hope you can join us at one of our upcoming events.
Warmly,
Caroline Sherman, Chair

| WGC Circle Team - Join Us! |
This year's WGC Circle Team training season is in full swing! Through the years the WGC's Circle Team has had over 75 athletes and raised over $80,000 since its inception and has made an incredible impact on the organization and how we are supporting local women and girls. This year we are refocusing the Circle Team to be a member-driven team. All team events, fundraising and training activities will be organized by Circle Team members. This means there will be NO dues or registration requirements. While we will not be setting a required fundraising amount, we do ask that you participate with the team only if you are committed to setting up a fundraising page and raising funds for the WGC. If you are interested in joining our efforts, training with an inspiring group of women and having a great time all around, please join our Facebook page for further information!
