Grassroots is Requesting $1,000 - Can You Help?
Grassroots is seeking immediate assistance of $1,000 to help a woman pay her electric bill for her family's house. Grassroots is requesting $1,000 to help pay a BGE bill for a family in subsidized housing. The family consists of mom and three children. The three-year old child has a chronic lung disease and regularly uses a breathing device which requires electricity. This financial situation is jeopardizing her housing. Mom had been working but was laid off. Grassroots and other agencies are working together to ensure that the family is accessing all resources that could relieve some of their financial stress such as food stamps, Temporary Cash Assistance, Unemployment, etc. Our top priority is to resolve this critical situation and help this family retain their housing. Through case management, services will be provided to improve the family's prospects for long-term housing stability.
Thank you for your consideration!
