Northeastern Neighbors
Dozens gather for Chavez Day of Service to better urban gardens, parks
Neighbors, University join forces to make a difference in the community
Early last month, people from the University and all around the neighborhood got together on an unusually cold and snowy morning to dig vegetable plots, beautify our parks and prepare public gardens for Northeastern's annual Cesar Chavez Day of Service. Three locations benefited from the effort: Global Gardens (at Lawrence and Sacramento), Northside College Prep and Eugene Field Park. Thank you to everyone who participated.
Collecting supplies, donations for Earthquake victims in Ecuador
Northeastern Illinois University in collaboration with the Consulate of Ecuador in Chicago is collecting donations for the Ecuadorian victims' relief efforts. There is a great need for non-perishable food items, tents, sleeping bags, first-aid kits and other supplies. Donations will be accepted weekdays through this Thursday, between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. in the Student Lounge of the E Building, Room E-050A, which is located below the bookstore on the Main Campus.

Northeastern needs your input
Our neighborhood spans a large geography that encompasses businesses, institutions and residents who represent a very diverse array of viewpoints. It is important to us that we understand the issues and concerns -- about our events, programming and projects -- that can help strengthen our relationship as neighbors. We invite you to share your thoughts with us online.
