Sustainability a strategic priority at Northeastern
University, students continue their commitment to being 'green'
When Northeastern refreshed its Strategic Plan during the last academic year, it restated the importance of environmental sustainability as a key element of its identity through green design and activities. Students, too, have been major drivers of environmentalism at the University and beyond. Learn more about what the University and its students are doing to build awareness and promote environmentally friendly practices.
Neighbors invited to a free movie night on the Quad
Northeastern invites its neighbors and members of the community to an outdoor movie screening of the summer hit, Pitch Perfect 2, which will be shown on the Quad at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, August 27. The film stars Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson, and is rated PG-13. Bring your picnic baskets, blankets, lawn chairs, families and friends, and hope for good weather. We look forward to seeing you there.
NASPA names NEIU a Lead Institution in civic engagement
Northeastern Illinois University has been named one of nearly 80 colleges and universities in the nation as a Lead Institution by NASPA - Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education, the leading voice for the student affairs profession. This is the fourth year Northeastern has been selected to participate. Learn more about this distinction.
Join NEIU alumni, students for a beach cleanup day
Northeastern's Alumni Association and Student Leadership Development will host a beach outing on Sunday at Montrose Beach for some fun and community service. You are invited to join us this Sunday, August 23, from 11 a.m. to noon to help clean up the beach, and from noon to 2 p.m. to enjoy volleyball, frisbee and lake time with the group.
