Lafayette ChathamSTEM Robotics First Lego League teams for 2014/2015...
and have the hardest fun you will ever have !
Good Morning Everyone,
Here is a
list of current players and potential teams as they are being formed.
As you can see we have many children interested. We need team leads to make the teams happen. Without you We also need the teams to be open to take on other children who may not have formed a team of their own.
Many of you have asked about next steps. Here they are...
1) Assemble teams - players and leads
2) Register teams with FLL
3) Teams purchase kits and pay necessary fees
4) Teams attend table decorating and unveiling of challenge. More details to follow.
5) September to November- Let the games begin!! In October, we will hold a session for teams to come and demonstrate their projects to help get the kinks worked out.
All of the above should be organized and ready to go by mid September.
If you are a parent of a child on the roster, please consider leading a team.
From the organization perspective:
- ChathamSTEM met with the school principal and secured a practice space at the Lafayette Gym on Tuesdays 3pm-6pm where we will have the tables setup
- We have also trained the High Schoolers that will serve as assistant coaches, therefore the coach does not need to learn the technical aspects if she/he does not wish to. For those parents who do want to learn the technical piece, we can teach you
- Finally, we are developing a parents Friendly First Lego League curriculum that explicitly reinforces the grade 4 and 5 Math and Science concepts the way they are taught in Chatham. That curriculum will be provided to every parent and used by .
