Alberta Government Announces Immediate Steps to Raise Minimum Wage
On June 29, Minister Lori Sigurdson announced the Government's first steps towards raising the minimum wage. On October 1, the minimum wage will be increased from $10.20 to $11.20 per hour. The Minister indicated that the Government will continue to phase in increases over the next 3 years with the minimum wage reaching $15 per hour by 2018.
In addition, the Government will eliminate the lower minimum wage rate required for individuals serving liquor. On October 1, the minimum wage for individuals serving liquor will be increased from $9.20 to $10.70. This wage will be equalized over the next 2 years until it is equivalent to the standard minimum wage.

The Stony Plain, Spruce Grove & District Victim Services Society is proud to announce our annual Golf Tournament on August 17, 2015 at The Links Golf Course in Spruce Grove.
The Society is accepting gift donations for the Silent Auction as well as monetary donations. This annual event is the largest fundraiser of the year and it continues to be a great time for all involved!
